Here it come : Google Nexus One
Finally details about Google Phone is revealed Officially. The Search engine Giant finally unveils the Self-developed Smartphone, they call it a “SUPERPHONE”. On top of this, they have come up with a Google Web Store For purchaing the Phone.(I Gave a try & always ended up in an error page).The web store allows you to purchase the Nexus One without operator or with the wireless service from T-Mobile USA. It also promises more operators soon.So why is this this device creating such a huge interest among consumer / techie’s , lets take a look. Initally Google launched Android with T-Mobile USA as G1, but as of date they have about 20 devices with 59 operators in 48 countries and 19 languages. Android is free & Opensource, this is another reason why the platform might have got so much light.
Now lets take a look @ the Techinical Specificiation of new nexus one
Weight : 130 Grams w/battery – which quite impressive, lighter than iPhone
Width : 59.8 MM – Slimier than other SmartPhones
Display : 3.7-inch (diagonal) widescreen WVGA AMOLED touchscreen – Multitouch is missing
Resolution : 800 x 480 pixels – Impressive
Camera : 5 megapixels with Flash & 2x Digital Zoom – iPhone does not have flash / 5 MP
Video Camera: Video captured at 720×480 pixels at 20 frames per second or higher, depending on lighting conditions – Poor iPhone 3G Users (Including me)
Cellular band : GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz) – So its a world phone, if you buy unlocked then you can use it any country. iPhone again loses here as there is no offical unlocked verison
Memory : 512MB Flash & 512MB RAM & 4GB Micro SD Card (Expandable to 32 GB) – still should i call this as a smartphone, why not mini-computer
Operating system : Android Mobile Technology Platform 2.1 (Eclair) – its Opensource that the big advantage
Processor : Qualcomm QSD 8250 1 GHz – impressive
Talktime : Up to 10 hrs on 2G & Up to 7 hrs on 3G

- You can buy the phone @ Google’s Web Store, the phone cost’s around $179 on T Mobile with a two-year contract.
- You can buy unlocked phone @ the same website for $529.00
- All text field in the phone is voice-enabled. Every time you speak, it will process your speech.
- Not Like iPhone, it will be available in multiple carrier. Expected to be available in Verison Soon
- It’s 130 grams in weight and 11.5 mm in width, about the width of a standard #2 pencil.
- Google have worked with CoolIris team to enrich the photo load experience.
